About Hansens Helping Hands

Who We Are

We are students who what to make a difference! We believe in giving back and helping disenfranchised youngsters get a great education.

Particularly those young adults suffering with Hansens Disease which is also called Leprosy.

Our goal is to offer the gift of education to students suffering with Leprocy anywhere in the world.

Our Goals

Our immediate goals are to offer need based scholarships to students who have been prevented from attending school due to their illness and /or lack of funds. As we are an all volunteer organization, 100% of our donations are sent to reputable organizations who are fighting Hansens Disease (Leprosy).

Brief History

We started the organization on 2016 and are proud that we have donated over $5000 to date to organizations leading the way to eradicate Hansens Disease - a totally curable condition!

More History

Hi I'm Conor Roddy, founder of Hansen’s Helping Hands which I set up in 2016 after my mom (who had lived in India) told me about how many children around the world still had leprosy even though it’s a totally curable disease.

Antibiotics and MDT (multi drug therapy) cure leprosy, but every year hundreds of thousands of people still contract the disease including many children who then don’t go to schools and still live in separate communities.

I set up the not-for-profit HANSENS HELPING HANDS because the medical name for leprosy is Hansen’s Disease. Because I didn’t have a 501C3 (a nonprofit business) I set up the site and asked people to donate to the American Leprosy Missions - now called Hope Rises International - as they are dedicated to eradicating leprosy.
